Tiger announces next PGA Tour appearance

Tiger Woods has revealed he will play in the Frys.com Open in October, in his next appearance on the PGA Tour.
The event in San Martin, California, is a part of the Tour's 'Fall Series' - a collection of four events that follow on from the conclusion of the FedEx Cup playoffs but generally fail to attract top class fields.
Woods had suggested last week that he would play an event in the series, and has opted for the tournament at CordeValle Golf Club - a venue he has not played at before.
"I always enjoy competing in my home state, and this tournament fits my schedule perfectly," Woods said. "I'm looking forward to seeing some old friends.
"John Fry and his company have supported the tour, and I've heard good things about the event and the golf course. One of my goals this year was to participate in a tournament I hadn't played before, and now, I will."
Woods last played competitively in the US PGA Championship earlier in the month, where he missed the cut in his eighth appearance so far on the PGA Tour in 2011.
He is also scheduled to play in the Australian Open in the middle of October, before joining up with the United States team for the Presidents Cup after being handed a wildcard by captain Fred Couples.
