McIlroy reveals fresh injury problem

Rory McIlroy has revealed he is now nursing an elbow problem, which he feels can be traced to the wrist injury he picked up at the US PGA Championship.
McIlroy damaged his wrist when gouging his ball from behind a tree root and he required extensive treatment in order to complete the tournament and was in real discomfort throughout.
He has admitted it was a mistake to play the shot and although the wrist is now "fine", he will take an elbow problem to this week's Euroepan Masters in Switzerland.
"I practiced three times last week and after maybe an hour it started to get a bit sore, but I can definitely play," McIlroy said on his website. "I think when I injured the wrist in the US PGA I started to compensate with my elbow and shoulder so that's where it has come from. They are usually muscles that are inactive during the golf swing and weren't used to the action!
"I've had loads of work done with the physio on the shoulder which freed everything up nicely."
The Ulsterman is looking to show up well this week and in the following event, the KLM Open, in a bid to climb up the world rankings.
He said: "I think if I win next week I can get back up to third so that's a nice little goal for me, and also I'd like to get a little bit closer to the top two."
