Tiger Woods announced on Sunday his third full-time caddie will be Joe LaCava, former bagman of Fred Couples and Dustin Johnson.

LaCava decided to leave Johnson to work for the former world No. 1 in a shock move, while Woods parted ways with Steve Williams in the summer after 13 years together.

"Joe is an outstanding caddie, and I have known him for many years," Woods said on his official website. "I've personally seen the great job he did for Freddie [Couples]. I'm anxious for us to be working together."

LaCava reportedly told Johnson of his decision to move on after the final round of this week's PGA Tour Championship. Johnson won The Barclays last month with LaCava on the bag, but it is understood LaCava wants to spend more time at home, which he can now do given Woods' limited playing schedule.

"I'm excited to be working with Tiger," LaCava said in a statement on Woods' website. "I contacted Tiger and [agent] Mark [Steinberg] because this is a unique opportunity to be part of something very special. Tiger and I have been friends for a very long time, and I know what he can do."

Woods will play next at the Frys Open before heading to the Australian Open and the Presidents Cup, a competition that will feature all three of the caddies he has had in his career - Mike Cowan [now with Jim Furyk] and Williams, who now works for Adam Scott.
