Seve Ballesteros has issued an upbeat bulletin after being taken to hospital following a fall from a golf cart.

The legendary Spaniard, a five-time Major winner, was admitted to hospital after hitting his head when falling off a cart in Pedrena, northern Spain, last week.

His accident raised concerns for his health, having been treated for a brain tumour which was diagnosed in 2008. Ballesteros was examined in hospital for four days, but says he is fully recovered from his tumble.

"It occurred when I fell from a cart and hit my head on the ground," Ballesteros told Marca. "I was under observation for four days, but I am fine."

As part of his recovery, Ballesteros is looking to compete in a special four-hole event at St Andrews prior to the start of the Open Championship this summer.
