Tiger Woods is eyeing his first victory for nearly two years at this week's Frys.com Open, with the former world No. 1 saying his tournament will only be a success if he gets the "W".

Woods has not played since failing to make the cut at the US PGA Championship in August due to injury, and has since plummeted out of the world's top 50 for the first time in 15 years.

Despite not winning a tournament since November 2009, Woods, who has a new caddie in Joe LaCava, believes he is heading to the CordeValle Golf Club near San Jose in good form.

"I've been playing a lot of holes and getting my instincts back," he said. "Joey came out here a couple of days ago and worked the course and got all the numbers. I told him what I wanted on each hole.

"So far I have struggled on the pace, I've been trying to get a feel for the course. I need to do some work on that and be ready for tomorrow."

Woods' plight has left many to question whether the American will ever be the force he once was. However, Woods sees things differently and when it was mentioned he may never win another major, he said: "It's not the first time I've heard that. I've kept on winning.

"Success for this week? Getting the 'W'."

There are signs Woods' form is returning and that is worrying news for his rivals, with the 35-year-old recently recording a 62 in Florida. He said: "I hadn't posted that low a round in a long time, so it felt good to do so. It was pretty easy and I left a few out there. I've been playing 36 and 45 holes a day and getting my instincts back, seeing how it feels.

"You can do what you want on the range, but playing is different. I've turned the corner and have been shooting some good round. It was pretty good to post a 62. It was a pretty easy round.

"I'm excited to be here and playing. I needed to play a lot at home. I was shut down from the Masters and that's not a lot of gold. I needed to play holes, hit shots and feel the winds. Every day is hot in Florida, but there are winds. I have worked my way back gradually."
