Westwood 'tossed' Dubai title away

Lee Westwood has given an honest assessment of his final-round display at the Dubai Desert Classic, with the world No. 2 claiming his form would not be good enough to win a club medal.
The Englishman missed a string of makeable putts on the final day and it cost him dear as Spaniard Rafael Cabrera-Bello secured a one-shot success.
Westwood, who climbed above Rory McIlroy in the world rankings this week, has struggled for some time with his putting and it is clearly causing him concern.
He took to Twitter, following a "16-hour sulk", to say: "Well tossed that one away nicely! Carnage on the greens! Managed not to break or smash anything post round!
"Waved the putter at it 33 times. Not even good enough for the monthly medal with form like that."
Westwood often finds life tough on slower greens and it is likely that he will work on attacking the hole in the coming weeks.
He said: "Have now given Billy (caddie Billy Foster) approval to slap me (within reason!) if I don't run the ball at the hole with pace over the next three weeks!"
