The final round of the Texas Open turned into something of a three-horse race as John Huh, Matt Every and Ben Curtis battled for victory, with the latter coming out on top by two strokes.

Curtis and Every found themselves locked on eight-under, with Huh two shots back as they entered the final five holes. In the end, it was Curtis who stayed steady to finish on a winning score of nine-under, claiming his fourth PGA Tour victory.

The crucial moment came at the 15th, which Every could only bogey to fall back to seven-under. Every had been inconsistent over the first three days, hitting a course record 63 in round one before undoing his good work over the next two days. His one-under 71 on Sunday marked a return to form, but it was not enough to claim a maiden PGA title.

Curtis, by contrast, had built his lead more steadily with consecutive 67s heading into the weekend. But a 73 on Saturday was followed by a level-par 72 on Sunday, meaning he was only sure of victory once he found himself with two putts for victory at the 18th.

Huh ended up with a share of second, while four players including Brendan Steele, Bob Estes, Brian Gay and Charlie Wi tied for fourth on five-under.
