- John Deere Classic, Round Three
Matteson on course for third PGA title

Troy Matteson is on course to win the John Deere Classic after he built a three-shot lead during Saturday's third round.
Matteson, a two-time PGA Tour winner, has led after each day of the competition to date, thanks largely to his opening-round 61. He was rather less spectacular in Illinois on Saturday, carding a five-under 66 to remain top of the leaderboard on 18-under.
The American drove longer than at any point in the tournament as he looked to defend his lead. He also putted better than he did in the previous 24 hours, although work still remains if he is to win his first PGA title for almost three years.
The closest threat to Matteson is Steve Stricker, who matched his compatriot's effort of 66 to move to 15-under. Stricker currently owns sole possession of second place.
One stroke further back are two more Americans, Zach Johnson and Brian Harman, both of whom sit on 14-under. Harman allowed several opportunities slip away as he only managed a 69 to cost him a place higher up the leaderboard.
The challenge of England's Gary Christian is fading after he posted a one-under 70. Christian is now six strokes off the lead going into the final round.
