The eight automatic qualifiers for the United States' Ryder Cup team have been finalised following the conclusion of the US PGA Championship.

The list includes Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson - the latter having survived a nervy weekend at Kiawah Island - along with newly-crowned major champions Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson.

Woods topped the 12-month qualification process for captain Davis Love III's team with 6,014.184 points - with Watson, Jason Dufner and Keegan Bradley all in close attendance.

Zach Johnson and Matt Kuchar complete the initial list, ensuring Love's team currently has an experienced feel.

The former US PGA champion now has a decision to make over who will receive each of his four wildcards. Hunter Mahan and Steve Stricker narrowly missed out on automatic qualification and would appear to be obvious inclusions, while Rickie Fowler can be confident of selection follow his performance on debut at Celtic Manor two years ago.

The likes of Jim Furyk, Dustin Johnson, Bo Van Pelt and Brandt Snedeker face an agonising wait to see if they will be included, however - Love is set to announce his picks at the start of September.

Europe's automatic qualifiers are still to be finalised - with Ian Poulter replacing Sergio Garcia in Jose Maria Olazabal's current ten following his performance at Kiawah Island.
