Lynn hoping to catch Olazabal's eye at Gleneagles
David Lynn admits he is still pinching himself at the possibility of being named in Europe's Ryder Cup team.
While Lynn is out of the running for an automatic qualification spot, the 38-year-old is hoping to catch captain Jose Maria Olazabal's eye with a strong showing at this week's Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.
His performance at the US PGA Championship propelled him from 28th to 13th in the points table for next month's showdown with USA at Medinah Country Club.
Lynn feels his recent form merits a wildcard from Olazabal, who will name his 12-man team on August 27.
"Jumping 15 places was just fantastic," Lynn said. "Last year I missed the cut at the Johnnie Walker but I'm feeling much more positive this year. If I can play like I did at Kiawah Island who knows what will happen.
"If I was 11th or something like that on the rankings I would have a chance of a wildcard," he said. "I'm just glad to be part of the conversation, to be honest."
