Ross Fisher missed a four-foot putt at the 18th hole to hand Shane Lowry the Portugal Masters on Sunday.

Lowry, looking for his second European Tour win after famously winning the Irish Open as an amateur in 2009, bogeyed the final hole at Oceanico Victoria to set a clubhouse target of 14-under par - with Fisher the only player out on the course realistically still able to catch him.

The Englishman, also 14-under on the tee, left himself with a short putt to force a play-off - but he was unable to find the cup as Lowry emerged victorious.

"I cannot believe this," Lowry, who was four shots behind the leader at the start of the day, said. "I can't explain how I feel really.

"It's a dream come true - I'm over the moon."

The highlight of Lowry's round came at the 11th, as he eagled the par-four after his seven-iron approach landed a foot short of the hole and rolled up and in.

It nevertheless looked like he might come up short after his bogey at the last, despite still carding a round of 66.

Fisher was second after his closing round of 70, while Michael Campbell - the former US Open champion - completed an encouraging week's play with a round of 68 to take third on his own at 12-under.

The overnight leader, Bernd Wiesberger, was fourth after slipping back to 11-under. The Austrian - a multiple winner already this year - was in contention throughout the day, but ultimately two bogeys over the closing two holes put paid to any hopes he had of victory.

Englishman Richard Finch rounded out the top five, after a final round 70 saw him finish 10-under.
