Woods: Rory rivalry to last ten years

Tiger Woods believes the battle for supremacy between him and Rory McIlroy could last for well over a decade.

The 14-time major winner will go head-to-head with the world No. 1 in an 18-hole exhibition match at Jinsha Lake in Zhengzhou next week.

Woods won the last battle when he thrashed McIlroy by six strokes at the World Golf Final in Turkey, but is still smarting from USA's humiliating Ryder Cup defeat at Medinah last month.

And Woods, ranked second in the world, is relishing another showdown with the player who has long been earmarked as the 'next Tiger Woods'.

"We've all seen how talented Rory is," Woods said. "It'll be fun to battle him for the next decade or so and hopefully we'll have many battles to come.

"It's going to be a lot of fun going head to head with Rory. I enjoy head-to-head events so it's great to do this in China.

"China is a growing market and what they've done in golf over the past decade or so is incredible. China is young in golf terms but rising fast, especially with the sport joining the Olympics."
