Martin Kaymer leads a tightly-knit field ahead of the final round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

Four shots separate the top six players, with Kaymer topping the standings at five-under following a solid round of 70.

Low scores have been hard to come by at Sun City this week and those that have prospered have been the ones who have avoided serious mistakes. Kaymer fashioned three birdied and just the one bogey which moved him up to five-under after 54 holes.

Louis Oosthuizen was under the weather when posting a 72 on the second day, but shorn of his Movember and with a spring back in his step the South African thrilled the home crowd with some brilliant play. His driving was solid, irons crisp and putting excellent and it helped him storm through the field with a round of 69 to sit at four-under.

In contrast to Oosthuizen, overnight leader Paul Lawrie went the other way. A poor opening hole appeared to set the tone as the Scot's play was littered with disappointing shots. He steadied the ship coming home, but a 75 leaves him four off the lead.

Charl Schwartzel opened his round with fine birdies on one and three. Some excellent scrambling stopped his round from falling apart and he was able to sign for a 70 to move to three-under.

Lee Westwood remains firmly in contention to defend his title as a round of 70 left him on two-under. The world No. 6 was not as polished from tee to green as is often the case and he made a couple of bogeys at 12 and 13 - the first of which followed a quite stunning iron approach from the rough that set up a birdle. However, his chipping around the green was excellent, none more so than on 18 when he flopped the ball to within a foot for a par.

Justin Rose put together a superb round of 69, but he remains well back at five-over following his horror show on Friday.
