Darren Fichardt survived two late bogeys to win the Africa Open by two shots on Sunday.

His two-shot margin of victory over second-placed Gregory Bourdy and Jaco Van Zyl earned him a fourth win on the European Tour and ensured that the Africa Open title stayed in South African hands for the fourth year running.

After his victory Fichardt admitted that the stuttering end to his final round - a 71, his worst of the competition by two shots - was due to complacency.

"I started losing focus," Fichardt said. "I was four shots ahead and I started taking it for granted. I was putting unbelievable and then I missed a short putt at the 14th and thought, 'What's going on here?'"

Andy Sullivan was the highest placed Englishman, finishing in tied fifth position, five shots behind Fichardt.
