Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods have been paired together for the WGC Cadillac Championship beginning on Thursday.

The players, ranked one and two in the world, will be together for the first couple of rounds, and will be joined by world No. 3 Luke Donald.

McIlroy will return to action after pulling out of the Honda Classic last Friday citing wisdom tooth pain - admitting he made a mistake - at a time when he was seven-over on the second day in Florida.

Woods, meanwhile, arrives at the event not in the best of form having tied for 37th place at the Honda Classic. Both Woods and McIlroy are guaranteed to be there on the final day though, with no 36-hole cut in existence at this week's tournament.

Former world No. 1 Woods has also confirmed he will be playing at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, looking to defend his title and win the event for an eighth time.

The line-up will include Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson, but McIlroy has yet to announce whether he will take part at Bay Hill.
