Sergio Garcia believes he is the only player on tour brave enough to stand up to Tiger Woods as the public feud between the pair continues to gather pace.

Garcia clashed with Woods at the Players Championship last month when, during the third round at Sawgrass, the Spaniard claimed he had been put off his approach at the second by crowd noise caused by the world No. 1 preparing for his own shot from the trees.

The American admitted on Monday that he has no plans to apologise for his actions, but Garcia insists more people should stand up to Woods.

"I am the only brave one who has the guts to say it - but most of the other guys are thinking it," Garcia told Sky Sports News.

And when asked if everyone else is too scared to be honest, he added: "It feels like it. It's a thin line but I try to be as true to myself as possible and I try to be truthful as much as I can. That's who I am.

"We've never liked each other so it's not going to change anything from the past now. [The incident at Sawgrass] was the tipping point. That's not the first time it's happened and it's the way it is.

"We have not spoken and I don't really have any plans to. Obviously he is not going to say sorry, which I can understand coming from him. It wasn't my fault. I am not the one who should go to him. I don't care who he is.

"It doesn't matter if it is Tiger Woods or Luke Donald, who is my best friend on tour. If I have done something wrong I will go up and say, 'Sorry, I hope it is okay and that we can move on.'

"But if I am not the one who did the thing then I am not going to go up and say, 'Sorry for you doing that thing to me'. That's nonsense."

Garcia was speaking ahead of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, which begins on Thursday.
