Former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko has missed the cut in his professional golf debut at the Kharkov Superior Cup in his native Ukraine, carding a second round 86 to leave him 40 shots off Sihwan Kim's lead.

Shevchenko, who received a special invite to the event at the Superior Golf & Spa Resort, endured a 12-over-par opening round of 84; leaving him 26-over-par for the tournament after two rounds.

The 36-year-old retired from football after Euro 2012 as Ukraine's leading goalscorer and also won the European Player of the Year and the Ballon d'Or in 2004 while playing for AC Milan. He plays off a handicap of two.

Former tennis world No. 1 Yevgeny Kafelnikov enjoyed a slightly better two rounds, but still missed the cut at 16-over-par.

Kim leads on 14-under, with England's Lloyd Kennedy six shots back in second on eight-under.
