Tiger Woods says nothing should be read into his poor performance last weekend in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, and believes is he not "far off" his game.

The world No. 1 was the defending champion of the event at a course where he has triumphed a record eight times. However, he failed to make the PGA Tour's secondary cut for the first time in his career after he shot a round of 79.

And ahead of the Dubai Desert Classic, which begins on Thursday, Woods told the media that there are no problems with his form ahead of the event.

"I wouldn't read anything into what happened on Saturday at Torrey Pines," Woods said.

"It was just one of those days that happens, and it was one of the trains I just couldn't get off. There was nothing different with my ball-striking today compared to last Saturday."

Woods, who was playing at the Champions Challenge at the Emirates Golf Club, which pits the former winners of the Dubai Desert Classic in one field, revealed what he did during his unexpected absence.

"I went home and had a nice day off. Worked on putting a bit in the backyard and that was it. I am not that far off [my game]. It's just that I had one bad day, and that happens," Woods said.
