Exclusive: Bubba Watson on second Masters

Bubba Watson has refused to compare himself to the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson despite joining them as a multiple Masters winner.

Watson became just the 17th player to win more than once at Augusta after beating 20-year-old American Jordan Spieth and Sweden's Jonas Blixt by three shots with a final-round 69.

His victory - a second in just three years - sees him join a list featuring the likes of Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Nick Faldo, Woods and Mickelson, but Watson played down his achievement.

"No, no," said Watson, when asked if his win validates him as an elite player. "Again, I just got lucky enough to have two green jackets.

"I'm just trying to keep my tour card every year and if people say that I'm a good player, that's great.

"I'm trying to play golf for a living. I'm not trying to play golf for everybody to tell me how great I am or I'm one of the greats of the game.

"I play golf because I love it. I love the game, I want to grow the game. The game has brought me everything that I've ever owned in my life."
