J.B. Holmes leads the Wells Fargo Championship by one shot from Martin Flores after carding a 6-under 66 at Quail Hollow.

Holmes made seven birdies and one bogey to top the leaderboard on 13-under, with Flores missing the opportunity to share the lead after he bogeyed his final hole to finish on 3-under 69 for the round.

US Open champion Justin Rose, who finished one shot off the lead after the second round, struggled on Saturday after carding a 1-under 71 to end the day four strokes behind Holmes.

Rose, who had an eagle and four birdies on Friday, dropped two shots on the front nine but recovered with an eagle on the par-5 tenth. However, he fell a further stroke behind when he bogeyed the par-4 18th.

Five-time major winner Phil Mickelson had the best round of the day as the American hit a 9-under 63 to trail Holmes by two shots.

The American made seven birdies and one eagle to put himself in contention heading into the final day.

Former world No.1 Rory McIlroy was one of the early starters on Saturday, with the Northern Irishman tied for 11th and seven shots off the top thanks to a 7-under 65.
