McIlroy lands in Ireland but golf clubs don't

Even big-time golfers must sometimes endure the hassles of air travel.

Rory McIlroy made that clear on Twitter when he sought out United Airlines to seek the whereabouts of his lost golf clubs. McIlroy had traveled from the US Open in Pinehurst to Ireland for this week's Irish Open at Fota Island Resort.

United didn't take long to get back to McIlroy:

McIlroy had numerous responses to his tweet, mostly from frustrated golfers who have dealt with the same problem.

But there was also one from a 10-time major champion on the LPGA Tour who is now retired - Annika Sorenstam.

His clubs finally turned up in Cork though, albeit on Wednesday morning:
