Tiger Woods feels his game is showing definite signs of improvement, despite the world No. 1 failing to shoot a single sub-par round at the AT&T National.

Woods finished 14 shots behind winner Justin Rose following rounds of 73, 70, 70 and 71. It is only the 10th time in Woods' career, including majors, that he has failed to post an under-par round when playing a full 72 holes.

But despite the disappointing numbers, Woods believes his game is heading in the right direction with the Open only a fortnight away.

"I've driven the ball better this week than I have in a very long time," Woods said. "I just wanted to keep hitting it. That hasn't been the case lately."

Woods was let down on the greens, as in three of the four rounds he took more than 30 putts. "I putted awful all week," Woods said. "It is what it is."

Woods has won the Open on the last two occasions it has been held at St Andrews and he is looking forward to getting in some practice at the Old Course.

"Tee to green I felt great," Woods said. "My iron game wasn't as sharp as it usually is, but I did hit a lot of good iron shots.

"I'm looking forward to getting my lines, my feels, my numbers over there again. I love playing the golf course, and we'll see how the weather is; you never know."
