Matt Kuchar has withdrawn from the US PGA Championship because of a sore back.

Kuchar waited until tee time on Thursday before deciding he wasn't fit enough to play.

John Huh took Kuchar's place and joined the threesome with Louis Oosthuizen and Justin Rose.

Kuchar's best finish at the US PGA was a tie for 10th in 2010. He had missed the cut in three of his six career appearances.

Kuchar finished tied for fifth at The Masters this year. He was tied for 12th at the US Open and struggled at The Open when he finished tied for 54th.

Kuchar's withdrawal comes at the same time as Tiger Woods playing at the US PGA Championship after he recovered from the back injury which forced him to pull out during the final round of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday.
