Ian Poulter has revealed that Tiger Woods' 15-month-old son is showing signs of following in his famous father's footsteps.

Woods spent Monday and Tuesday in Limerick at the JP McManus Invitational pro-am. He had to endure a testing time at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, but the previous evening he mingled with fellow players and celebrities at Adare Manor.

Poulter exchanged pleasantries with the world No. 1 and revealed Woods showed him footage of his young son that took his breath away.

"When we were at the hotel, I did see Tiger's lad swinging a golf club on his telephone," Poulter said.

"It was simply incredible. The grip, the swing, the way the toe of the club was lined up - and at just 15 months old. It's scary.

"When he's 15, he'll probably have won at Augusta. I've probably only got 13 years left to win Majors."

Woods' jetted back to America on Tuesday afternoon prior to making a return journey at the weekend to begin his preparations for next week's Open. He made it clear that his family is his priority rather than taking time to practice on some links courses.

"I need to get home. I need to see my kids," he said, before responding to questions about his private life. "Everything is working itself out. Golf is something that I've done for a very long time and there are times in one's life when things get put in perspective.

"One was when my dad passed away and obviously what I've been going through lately."
