Woods would accept Ryder Cup pick

Tiger Woods has confirmed he would accept a Ryder Cup wild card if US captain Corey Pavin chose to pick the world No. 1.
Woods is in arguably the worst form of his entire career after he completed 72 holes of golf for 18-over-par at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational - his worst ever score in Akron. He only kept hold of his world No. 1 status due to a late collapse by Phil Mickelson.
Directly after the tournament in Wisconsin, Woods was asked if he plans to play at the Ryder Cup in October. He replied: "Not playing like this, definitely not, not playing like this. I mean, I wouldn't help the team if I'm playing like this. No one would help the team if they're shooting 18-over par. I think I can turn it around, but we've got a lot of time between now and then, which is good."
However, he appears to have changed his mind ahead of Thursday's US PGA Championship, replying "yes" when asked if he would accept a captain's pick. Woods went on to state his intention to earn a spot automatically.
"Hopefully I won't be a pick," he said. "I would like to be able to play myself onto that team. I've done some good work the last two days, I've still got one more day of some work and hopefully I'll be ready come Thursday.
"One of the great things about this sport is that no matter how poorly or how well you play the week before, it all begins anew. And that's something that I have always looked at down the road in the past and how I'm approaching this week as well.
"We all have a chance this week and hopefully I can get it done. I'm going to give it everything I have."
