Europe must be wary of Pavin's USA - Faldo

Nick Faldo believes Europe have the upper hand going into the Ryder Cup, but has warned that defending champions USA will be dangerous.
With just a week to go before the action kicks off at Celtic Manor, Faldo says Colin Montgomerie has the stronger players on his team, as well as having home advantage on his side.
"Pretty powerful, pretty strong," Faldo said of the European team on Sky Sports News. "You look at what we have been doing over the summer; we have been outplaying or out-winning the American team.
"We've got that as a positive, we've probably got the elements on our side as well a little bit, we've certainly got the home crowd. But America hasn't rolled over; otherwise they wouldn't be getting on the plane."
And Faldo, whose captaincy led to Europe's first defeat in nine years at Valhalla two years ago, believes that Corey Pavin's USA team are more than capable of an upset.
"It's matchplay," he said. "Anything can happen - that's the beauty of the Ryder Cup - it will be competitive and more than likely will come down to the wire."
