Tiger Woods has issued a warning to the European Ryder Cup team by insisting that he is "absolutely" over his woes - although he admits that he is having problems with his rebuilt swing.

The world No. 1 has struggled to recapture his best form since returning to the game in April, and he is without a top-ten finish in the PGA Tour since June. His difficulties meant that he did not qualify automatically for the US Ryder Cup team, meaning that he was forced to rely on a wildcard pick from skipper Corey Pavin.

Pavin's decision to pick Woods has attracted some criticism, as the 14-time Major winner is currently in the process of overhauling his swing under the guidance of new coach Sean Foley.

Woods' comments suggest he has not yet been able to fully implement Foley's tweaks, and that he will not be at his best as a result. "I have an understanding of what he is trying to teach and now it's just a matter of reps," he said. "I've done some good work and feel good coming in."

Nonetheless, he was defiant when asked if he felt his difficult period - which reached a nadir when he finished the Bridgestone Invitational at 18-over - was now firmly behind him. "Absolutely," came the response.

Woods wasn't giving much away in the press conference, instead preferring to insist that he had fully bought into the team dynamic. At previous iterations of the Ryder Cup, there have been suggestions that Woods has cut a distant figure and failed to fully integrate into the US group.

"We just have to get it done, the captain does have a role in putting us together so it's up to us to put it together," he said. "It always has a special significance, the teams are always fun to be a part of."
