'No panic stations' at Red Bull - Webber
Mark Webber said there are "no panic stations" at Red Bull despite issues with the tyres during Friday practice for the Indian Grand Prix.
Both Webber and Sebastian Vettel struggled to complete more than a handful of laps on the soft compound tyre due to blistering, despite having set the fastest times over one lap. Webber said the conditions in the race were likely to be different and that he's not overly concerned by Friday's problems.
"It's a hard life for the tyre in that type of corner but there are obviously some other corners which are quite difficult for the tyre," Webber said. "Let's see how the race goes; it's very difficult for me to make an assumption now on what we will have, but there are no panic stations."
Asked about strategy, Webber even believes a one-stop race could be possible on Sunday.
"We're having to go through everything, but obviously FP2 is generally different to the race. It can then open a window on the other compound in terms of going pretty long so the one-stop could come in to play. Who knows until race day really? We have to go with the pack, the pace - which hopefully is us - and then we can control the race from there."
Webber added that improved track conditions in India had helped teams carry out more relevant running on Friday.
"It was pretty good at the start I would say. Better than last year and previous years, the pit lane was in better shape. So we could get down to decent work straight away; I don't know if they did anything different but in general track conditions were pretty good."
