Fernando Alonso said his main priority is to finish the Korean Grand Prix and collect points after qualifying third on the grid.

"I think first of all we need to see the forecast still some doubts about the rain possibility, especially in the morning so we need to be very calm and finish the race which is the first priority," said Alonso. "There are five contenders at the moment but maybe tomorrow not all five will finish the race so we cannot be one of those because we need to keep scoring points every race and if we do that I am sure we will be very happy tomorrow afternoon."

Alonso admitted that third on the grid was the maximum he expected to achieve and, starting from the clean side of the circuit, he is in a good position for race day.

"I think P3 once again is our maximum potential today which in a way is very good because normally qualifying is not our strongest point of the weekend and here it seems we are quite close to the Red Bulls. So it's looking good for tomorrow."
