Battered Webber fit for British GP

Mark Webber has no lasting injuries after his huge accident at the European Grand Prix and will take part in the next round of the Formula One world championship at Silverstone.

Webber's Red Bull made contact with the rear of Heikki Kovalainen's Lotus, flipped into the air, landed upside down and finally came to a rest the right way up in the tyre barriers. He immediately threw his steering wheel out of the car and jumped to safety away from the wreckage.

After a visit to the medical centre and a shower, he told reporters at the circuit that he has a few bumps and bruises but nothing serious.

"I'm a little bit tender here and there but the car did a great job," he said. "I have a bit of swelling in some places, but I'll be fit for Silverstone."

And after a night's sleep, he wrote on his AussieGrit Twitter account: "Feeling good this morning, roll on Silverstone".

Red Bull has yet to confirm the state of the actual car; the same one driven by Webber to a handful of pole positions and his wins in Barcelona and Monaco. "It's been good to me," Webber smiled
