Mark Webber believes Red Bull still has work to do if it is going to maintain its near perfect qualifying record and take pole during Saturday's qualifying for the German Grand Prix.
Either Webber or team-mate Sebastian Vettel have started from pole at every race this season, with the exception of the Canadian Grand Prix when McLaren's Lewis Hamilton took the top spot. However, after wet conditions during Friday morning's practice session at Hockenheim, Webber said the team had plenty of work to do before qualifying.
"It wasn't the easiest day for everyone - the track conditions were pretty tricky, so selecting the right tyres at the right time wasn't straightforward, but we got some good information out of P2 when the track was pretty dry," he said. "We were also able to learn how both types of wet tyre worked here, so we evaluated the car in almost all conditions today. The car felt good, but we've got some work to do tonight."
Webber is expecting a strong performance from Ferrari after Fernando Alonso set the pace in the afternoon session and Felipe Massa was third.
"Ferrari look strong, so we have some competition this weekend and are looking forward to the race," Webber added.
