- US Open, Day Two
Awesome Serena crushes Coco

Serena Williams powered past Coco Vandeweghe to conclude the night session on Arthur Ashe at the US Open.
Williams is the overwhelming favourite for the event, having had such a stunning run this summer, and she looks determined to add to her Wimbledon win judged on the 6-1 6-1 mauling she handed out to Vandeweghe.
Playing on the big stage appeared to get to Vandeweghe whose normally reliable, potent serve misfired badly. She hit five double faults in the first set and handing gifts to a player of Williams' talent is a major error.
Williams raced into a 4-0 lead and a bagel looked on the cards, only for Vandeweghe to tee off from the baseline and break to love. It served to spark the No. 4 seed into action as Williams took the next two games in rapid fashion to grab the set.
Vandeweghe held serve at the start of the second set, but any thoughts that the crowd on Ashe were going to witness a comeback were snuffed out as Williams held to love and then powered through the remainder of the set to seal the win in 55 minutes.
Meanwhile, No. 21 seed Christina McHale was beaten 6-4 4-6 6-3 by Kiki Bertens.
