Newly-crowned heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez says he has no intention of fighting Daniel Cormier when the Strikeforce fighter joins the UFC.

Velasquez regained the title in Las Vegas on Saturday with a unanimous decision victory over Junior Dos Santos, the man who dethroned him last year.

Cormier, who is unbeaten in his MMA career, is set to join the UFC after competing in January for Strikeforce, but Velasquez said he would never fight his American Kickboxing Academy team-mate.

"I wouldn't [fight Cormier]. This is my friend, my teammate and my coach," Velasquez told Fox Sports. "If you want to see us fight, go to AKA three days a week."
