Kvyat hit with ten-place grid penalty

Daniil Kvyat has been hit with a ten-place grid penalty for the United States Grand Prix after his Toro Rosso was fitted with its seventh internal combustion engine (ICE) of the season in Austin.
Engines are split into six components in 2014, with regulations stating penalties are incurred every time a sixth unit is used - which continues with every new usage. Kvyat served an identical penalty for taking on his sixth ICE at Monza in September.
However, unlike his earlier penalty, this time it will be carried over to the next grand prix in Brazil after he qualified within ten places of the back grid. Kvyat qualified 14th in Austin, only four places from the back with Caterham and Marussia missing the grand prix.
