Kimi Raikkonen says he feels much happier with the handling of his Ferrari despite only qualifying tenth for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Raikkonen has struggled to match his driving style with the F14 T this year as the car does not have the front end grip he desires. Despite being out-qualified by team-mate Fernando Alonso for the 16th time this season Raikkonen says he feels much better behind the wheel in Brazil.

"We are close to our maximum speed, unfortunately, a couple of tenths could be found there," Raikkonen said. "But it's not like something is wrong and it's been pleasant to drive the car all weekend. Obviously finishing tenth is a different story but we've been making some progress on that side. This weekend the car has been behaving pretty nicely, it's been a better feeling."

Raikkonen is running a modified wing to Alonso this weekend but the Finn says that has not been hugely significant.

"They aren't really new parts, it's just different things we've been running. It's not a new design it's just running the car differently. It's been pretty good all weekend, even though we finished tenth there were no major issues."

With his struggles being so drawn out in 2014 Raikkonen says he has sacrificed race performance to find solutions recently, something he will not shy away from in Brazil.

"We've tried many things differently in races this year and it hasn't worked out and has probably cost us points. I want to try things and find things out. If it doesn't work, I'll pay the price for it, its fine."
