Donald and Westwood majorly frustrated again

Luke Donald and Lee Westwood were left to rue another near miss in a major as American Keegan Bradley won the US PGA Championship in Atlanta on Sunday.
The two Englishmen, ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the world respectively, both played themselves into contention during stages of the final round at Atlanta Athletic Club, but failed to capitalise on the positions they put themselves in over the closing stages.
After both finished at three-under, Bradley eventually took victory following a play-off against long-time leader Jason Dufner, after the duo had completed atop the leaderboard at eight-under.
Both Westwood and Donald were frustrated after seeing another major opportunity elude them.
"I have enjoyed playing great for a long time now, but unfortunately when I turn up to majors, when I don't win one, then it's a disappointing week for everybody it seems," Westwood noted. "But that's the sort of level of golf I'm playing at."
"[It's] a missed opportunity again," Donald agreed. "The positives I see is I didn't have my best this week and I still came reasonably close. You know, I know I've got the game to compete and win majors, but I've got to take that it as a positive.
"Again, bittersweet. It's another major gone, another year gone without winning a major."
While both men's rankings remain unchanged, the victorious Bradley has jumped up to 29th from 108th following his win. That puts him ahead of 14-time major champion Tiger Woods who has now dropped to 33rd - behind both Matteo Manassero and Ernie Els.
"It feels unbelievable," Bradley said. "It seems like a dream and I'm afraid I'm going to wake up here in the next five minutes and it's not going to be real. It's an honour to be champion of the PGA. My father is a PGA member and it's just great."
Elsewhere, Steve Stricker moves up to third after a strong showing in the final major of the year, while Adam Scott also jumps two places into seventh. Dufner, meanwhile, rises 42 places from 80th to 32nd despite his play-off heartache.
