- Solheim Cup, Day Two
Davies shines but USA draw level

Laura Davies entered the history books as she became the highest points scorer in Solheim Cup history, but a United States fightback in Saturday's fourballs moved them level with Europe at 8-8 ahead of Sunday's singles at Killeen Castle.
In taking out Michelle Wie and Brittany Lang alongside Melissa Reid, Davies became the highest points scorer in the history of the Solheim Cup - with the point taking her to 24½ and above Annika Sorenstam.
As in the morning foursomes, Europe captain Alison Nicholas was handed the start she wanted as Davies and Reid thrashed Wie and Lang. Veteran Davies has had a poor year with the putter, but the short stick struck form at Killeen Castle as she stroked in putts with great regularity. Davies won four of the first six holes and the US pairing never recovered, slipping to a 4&3 defeat.
"It is probably because I am the oldest," Davies joked to Sky Sports of her record. "But it is a nice record to have. I have had some great partners along the way and they have helped me get to that total."
For all the good work of Davies and Reid, USA remain firmly in the hunt after getting the better of the afternoon fourballs.
Cristie Kerr came through her fourth game in two days with flying colours, as she and Morgan Pressel dug in to beat Caroline Hedwall and Suzann Pettersen. Pressel got a point on the board for USA in the morning foursomes and she holed a key birdie putt on 17 to put them ahead and they closed out the match down the last as Hedwall and Pettersen left birdie putts above ground.
Stacy Lewis looked out of sorts in her defeats in the foursomes, but the fourballs proved much more to her liking as she and Ryann O'Toole put another point on the board for USA with a 2&1 win over Sandra Gal and Christel Boeljon. O'Toole has proved to be an inspirational pick by USA captain Rosie Jones and it was appropriate that she rolled in a huge putt on 17 to seal the win.
Azahara Munoz rescued a half for Europe in the morning foursomes with a putt on 18 but she could not pull off the rescue act again, as Paula Creamer and Brittany Lincicome beat Munoz and Maria Hjorth 3&1.
