Love vows to pick Woods for Ryder Cup

US captain Davis Love III has virtually guaranteed Tiger Woods a place in the Ryder Cup team for the 2012 tournament at Medinah Country Club.
Woods did not qualify automatically for the 2010 tournament at Celtic Manor, but was handed a captain's pick by skipper Corey Pavin - and went on to pick up three points.
Although the former world No. 1 has endured a difficult 2011 season, extending his winless streak to nearly two years, Presidents Cup chief Fred Couples awarded him a wildcard selection for the tournament in Melbourne during November.
And Love is vowing to follow suit next year when he is in the hotseat. "He's one of the best players ever in the game, so you want him on your team," Love said. "I'm hoping for Tiger, as a friend, that he has a full healthy season next year, so we're not in this situation.
"I'm sure we are all not privy to the conversations between Fred and Tiger over the last few months, but I'm sure it's very similar to his conversations with Corey: 'I'll be ready to play, if I'm not I'll tell you.'
"I would love to play as Tiger Woods' partner at the Presidents Cup or Ryder Cup, so I would have to go with exactly what Fred did."
