Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano and Juvic Pagunsan will be forced to return to the course on Monday after further weather delays at the Singapore Open.

Heavy rain on Friday and Saturday prompted organisers to reduce the event to 54 holes on Saturday, and with the tournament heading for a conclusion, the threat of lightning saw the players hauled off the course.

Fernandez-Castano, who led by three strokes at the beginning of Sunday's play, saw a four-shot lead evaporate on the back nine as Filipino Pagunsan forced a play-off at Sentosa Golf Club with both players tied for the lead on 14-under par.

An eagle at the fourth and a birdie at the sixth saw Fernandez-Castano reach the turn four clear of the chasing pack, but three bogeys in four holes saw his lead shrink, and when Pagunsan holed a ten-foot birdie at the last, the Spaniard needed a birdie for the win.

But after his ball found the water, Fernandez-Castano did well to force the play-off with a 20-foot putt for par. The pair teed off on the 18th for their play-off, but a loud clatter of thunder put paid to their efforts as they were ushered off the course. They briefly returned over an hour later for their second shots, but thunderstorms returned to call a halt to proceedings.

Anthony Kim produced the round of the day with a 64 featuring eight birdies and a bogey to see the American take the clubhouse lead, eventually settling for a share of third alongside Louis Oosthuizen, who carded a final round 65.

Fernandez-Castano's playing partner Edoardo Molinari finished a shot further back on 12-under in a share for fourth with Danny Lee and Joost Luiten, while James Morrison finished on 11-under after carding a one-over 72.

Justin Rose's 69 saw him finish in a tie for ninth, while Graeme McDowell shot an impressive 66 to finish on eight-under par.
