Tiger Woods will face the media prior to the start of the Masters - his first tournament since November.

World No. 1 Woods, who temporarily halted his golfing career after admitting to a series of extramarital affairs, will hold a press conference on April 5 at the Augusta National course.

Although Woods has appeared in front of the media since the revelations of his infidelities, on these occasions the members of the press he addressed were a hand-selected few.

The Masters appearance will be Woods' first press conference in nearly five months - and his first time facing a room full of reporters since announcing his intention to return to golf.

After hearing the news, Arnold Palmer suggested Woods should be open with reporters. "It's up to him to do and say whatever he feels he needs to do to redeem the situation, put it in the proper place," Palmer said. "I suppose the best thing he could do would be open up and just let you guys shoot at him. And that's just my thought."

Woods is the only player scheduled to address the press on April 5. The Masters will reach its conclusion six days later.
