Tiger Woods has dispelled fears that injury could force him to miss The Masters at the start of next month.

Woods was forced to withdraw midway through the final round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship on Sunday, after suffering a slight strain to his left Achilles.

The problem - along with the 14-time major champion's long-list of prior problems with his left leg - had sparked suggestions he could be set to miss the event at Augusta National in the first week of April, but the player has moved quickly to assure everybody he will tee it up at the event.

"I'll be there. Don't worry about it," Woods told ABC on Thursday.

He subsequently added: "I took a few days off. I'll start hitting balls tomorrow. The stiffness is gone. Hopefully, I'll be ready next week."

The latest update from the former world No. 1 suggests his recovery is going as planned, after he spent time with a specialist on Monday.

"Got good news from doc tonight," he tweeted. "Only mild strain of left Achilles. Can resume hitting balls late in week and hopeful for next week."

He is still scheduled to play the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill next week - his last start before the Masters.
