Tiger Woods' former coach Hank Haney has revealed how the American was seriously irked by Ian Poulter after accusing the Brit of blagging a ride in his private jet.

Haney, whose book 'The Big Miss' is due for release a week before the Masters on March 27, has been causing a stir with short previews in the lead-up to its launch.

In excerpts released on Tuesday, Haney claimed Poulter got on Woods' nerves when the American-based Brit was "cheeky enough to ask Tiger: 'How are we getting home?'" after both finished practising at Oakmont shortly before the 2007 US Open.

According to Haney, Woods did not offer Poulter a ride on his private jet, but alleges he turned up at the airport nevertheless, prompting Woods to send Haney a text message which read: "Can you believe how this d*** mooched a ride on my plane?".

Haney's bid to raise interest surrounding his memoir of his six years working with the former world No. 1 is sure to do just that, as well as create some friction between the two players.
