Donald to swerve Masters Par-3 Tournament

Luke Donald has taken the decision to skip the Masters curtain raiser that is the Par-3 Tournament.
The Wednesday of Masters week sees the players take on the Par-3 Course, with the event drawing huge galleries as it offers the star names the chance to have a little fun prior to the opening major of the year.
The Par-3 prize has proved something of a millstone, as no winner of the curtain raiser has gone on to win the main event in the same year.
Donald was the latest player to falter, as he won the Par-3 in 2011 only to come up short at The Masters.
There is no chance of that happening this year as the world No. 1 will not be in the field.
"I actually had a very focused goal of trying to win both of them, and it was something that I wanted to do," Donald said. "As fun as it is - I probably will play it when my kids get a little bit older - playing on greens that are not quite the same the afternoon before the first round doesn't seem the best preparation for me."
