The Ryder Cup gets underway at Medinah Country Club on September 28. ESPN will have extensive coverage of the event - including interactive text commentary, reports and reaction - for all three days.

US captain Davis Love III says he will consult Tiger Woods before deciding how often to play the former world No. 1 during this year's Ryder Cup.

Woods, who admitted on Tuesday that he is haunted by his past failures in the event, has won just 13 of 29 matches and has tasted Ryder Cup success once in six attempts.

But while Love has no doubts over the form of Brandt Snedeker, who scooped the $11.4 million FedEx Cup jackpot last weekend, he will confer with the likes of Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker before selecting his pairings.

And Love admits Woods will be the first name on the list if the 14-time major champion expresses his desire to play five times over three days.

Love said: "You don't really want to ask a Brandt Snedeker, 'How many do you think you want to play?' because he is going to say, 'Five, I'm hot.'

"But you want to talk to Tiger, Phil, Strick, Jim: 'How are you feeling? How's your body? How do you think you are going to hold up?' and let them determine it.

"If Tiger says, 'I am feeling great, I want to play as much as possible', then obviously he is the best player we have ever had so you've got to defer to that and let him go."
