The Ryder Cup gets underway at Medinah Country Club on September 28. ESPN will have extensive coverage of the event - including interactive text commentary, reports and reaction - for all three days.

American duo Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker will take on Ian Poulter and Justin Rose in the standout clash of Friday's foursomes at the Ryder Cup.

Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell will open for Europe in the alternate-shot format against Jim Furyk and Brandt Snedeker, recent winner of the £11.4m FedEx Cup bonus.

In the second tie, Phil Mickelson and rookie Keegan Bradley will take on Luke Donald, the former world No. 1, and Sergio Garcia, who was forced to take a vice-captains' role at Celtic Manor two years ago.

Westwood and Molinari do battle with Jason Dufner and Zach Johnson in match No. 3, before the Woods v Poulter clash rounds off the first session.

Poulter, one of captain Jose Maria Olazabal's wildcard choices, has a formidable Ryder Cup record, with eight points from his 11 fixtures, while Woods has failed to consistently produce his best golf in the biennial tournament.

Furyk and Snedeker v McIlroy and McDowell will kick off the action at 1.20pm BST on Friday at the Medinah course in Chicago.

Friday's action will be rounded off with the fourballs, which may feature different pairings to the ones chosen in the foursomes.
