The likes of Ian Poulter, Bubba Watson and Keegan Bradley were frustrated once again on Saturday as play was abandoned for a second consecutive day at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

Extreme winds, mixed with rain, have forced organisers to cancel the first two days in Hawaii, with Sunday now targeted for the tournament's opening round.

Play had briefly got underway on Friday, with US Open champion Webb Simpson leading on three-under through seven holes. However, all scores have been scrapped.

It is the first time in nearly eight years that a PGA Tour event has restarted a round. The last was the Players Championship of 2005.

Steve Stricker is the defending champion at Kapalua, where organisers now hope to complete 36 holes on Sunday, with a further 18 scheduled for Monday - making it a 54-hole competition.
