Pelle Edberg put together a solid round of 71 to maintain a share of the lead with Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano after three rounds of the Mallorca Open.

Edberg had the chance to take the lead outright only to leave a putt on the 18th on the high side, but on a day when scoring was tough the Swede will be pleased to be in the final two ball at four-under.

Fernandez-Castano produced solid golf for 17 holes, as three birdies moved him to five-under, but the adrenaline got the better of him on the 18th green. He rolled a birdie putt nine-feet past the hole and missed the return which saw him post a 68.

Scott Hend surged into contention after 54 holes, as a round of 66 which contained five birdies and one bogey catapulted him up the field to three-under.

Alejandro Canizares carded a solid 68 to sit on two-under alongside Peter Hanson, while Chris Woods bounced back from his disappointing 72 on Friday to post a 68 and he is three off the lead heading into the final round.
