Rory McIlroy may only have two chances to end his 2013 title drought but he is confident he can do it this week at the Australian Open.

After practicing on Monday at Royal Sydney, McIlroy is eagerly anticipating taking on Australians Adam Scott and Jason Day, who won the World Cup on home soil last week. After the Australian Open he will head to the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge in America.

The two-time major winner said: "I'm definitely not down here for a holiday.

"I've got two tournaments left. I've got here and then fly straight back to LA for Tiger's tournament, so it would be great to finish the year with a win."

McIlroy has finished in the top 10 on eight occasions in 2013, including in his last two events in Dubai and Shanghai.
