Ian Poulter is looking forward to renewing his partnership with Justin Rose at the Ryder Cup.

Rose and Poulter forged a fine understanding at Valhalla in 2008, but there was a major doubt about Rose competing in this year's renewal at Celtic Manor due to his stuttering form. However, Rose has found his stride in some style with two wins in the last month to all but guarantee him a place in Colin Montgomerie's team.

Poulter was pleased to see Rose secure victory at the AT&T National, following his capitulation the previous week, and believes it is another indication of the depth of European golf.

"It is great," Poulter told Sky Sports News. "He won a couple of weeks ago and should have won last week. So to come out and win this week shows how good mentally he is. He has got his mind in.

"It is great for him and great for the Ryder Cup team to be playing the golf he is. I think it almost puts him in the side and if not Colin [Montgomerie, Europe captain] is going to want him to press on and make sure he does not have to pick him and that Ryder Cup side is shaping up nicely.

"My partner is going to be in the Ryder Cup side so I look forward to pairing up with him. He would want to make the side rather than be picked. He will be picked for sure but getting in without being picked frees up a pick for Monty."
