Woods paired with defending champion in Wisconsin

Tiger Woods' recent woes on the golf course will come into even sharper focus at the US PGA Championship next week, after he was drawn in the same pairing as defending champion YE Yang.
Woods looks likely to lose his world No. 1 ranking this week as he stumbles around the Firestone Country Club at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational, reaching a score of six-over-par through two rounds. Crucially, Phil Mickelson is currently tied for second place, which would be enough to confirm him as the new world No. 1.
The US PGA Championship arrives at Whistling Straits in a week's time, providing memories of Woods' collapse 12 months ago, when he failed for the first time to win a Major after leading through 54 holes. Yang was the man to inflict that defeat, and now the draw has thrown the pair together once again. Vijay Singh will complete the trio.
Lee Westwood confirmed on Friday that he will not play this year's US PGA event, due to a persistent calf injury that threatens his involvement at the Ryder Cup. Kevin Sutherland takes the Briton's place.
As is tradition, Phil Mickelson, Graeme McDowell and Louis Oosthuizen will all tee off together as the year's three Major winners.
Elsewhere, European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie will go out alongside Koumei Oda and Matt Kuchar, while Ian Poulter will join US captain Corey Pavin and Camilo Villegas.
